Wollemi Ridge Glow Worm Tour Information

Terms & Conditions

Arrival

Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the starting time to ensure the group can depart promptly.

Latecomers who arrive after the advertised starting time may miss the tour.

We provide handheld spotlights, head torches, insect repellent and wet-weather jackets (or bring your own if you prefer).

Please bring drinking water, particularly if the weather is hot.

Refunds

Refunds will not be given if you are late and the tour has departed, if you fail to attend, or if you change your mind and decide not to attend.

If an assessment is made that weather conditions are unsafe and the tour is cancelled, you will be informed as early as possible and a full refund will be provided.

Weather Conditions

Glow worms are a naturally occurring phenomenon and the intensity of their display can be affected by uncontrollable environmental conditions.

While there are always glow worms to be seen on the tour, occasionally unforeseen and/or dramatic changes in weather can impact the number of glow worms visible.

Around December, you may see fireflies as well.

The Glow Worm Tour will generally operate in the rain. In fact, glow worms often produce a more exciting display in wet weather.

In the event of rain, please assume the tour is going ahead as planned and proceed to the starting point.

Toilets & Amenities

There are no toilets, shops or amenities available at the tour meeting point.

The closest toilets are at:

  • Bilpin Metro Petrol Station

  • Bilpin Sports Oval / Rest Area

These are approximately 10 minutes’ drive towards Sydney from the meeting point.

Alternatively, please use the facilities at your accommodation prior to the tour.

Tour Rules

  • No flash photography

  • No yelling or talking loudly when close to the glow worms

  • Do not walk off the defined track or leave the group

  • The Tour Guide’s directions must be followed at all times

  • Do not walk without your spotlight or headlamp

Glow Worm Tour Liability Waiver Form

Please read the following Liability Waiver Form carefully.

Each participant must sign this form at the start of the tour. The form will be provided by the guide, so please ensure you have read and agreed to the waiver and are prepared to take responsibility for yourself.

Refunds will not be offered if you decline to sign on the day.

If you are purchasing tickets for friends, it is important that you notify them of the Liability Waiver and booking conditions.

Liability Acknowledgement

I acknowledge that outdoor activities including, but not limited to:

  • walking on wet or slippery bush tracks

  • walking across unformed terrain

  • walking at night in low-light conditions

carry inherent risks that may result in accident, injury or even death.

I understand that I am participating in an outdoor activity and must take appropriate action to protect myself from extreme temperatures, inclement weather, sunburn and dehydration.

I acknowledge that the Australian outdoor environment, including bushland, rainforest, waterfalls, creeks, caves and lakes, is the natural habitat of creatures including ants, bees, leeches, wasps, bats, snakes, centipedes, spiders, stinging insects, birds and wild animals. I understand that interactions with these creatures may result in injury.

I agree that if at any time I require a drink, need protection from environmental conditions such as sun or cold, feel pain, or have any other concern, I will inform the Tour Guide immediately.

I certify that I am physically fit to complete this tour and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional.

I certify that I am not under the influence of drugs or alcohol when participating in this tour.

I consent to receive medical treatment that may be deemed necessary in the event of injury, accident or illness during the tour.

Release of Liability

I, the undersigned, in consideration of and as a condition of my participation in this tour, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, hereby waive and release any and all claims, rights or causes of action that I may have for or arising out of loss of life, injury, damage or loss of any description whatsoever which may be suffered as a result of participation in this activity.

Love Cabins Pty Ltd, Berambing Sustainable Development Pty Ltd and Wollemi Ridge Retreats shall not be responsible, whether in tort, contract or otherwise, for any injury to or death of myself or any other participants, or for any loss of or damage to property belonging to myself or any participants while participating in any activity arranged or supervised by or on behalf of these organisations.

This applies whether or not such injury, death, loss or damage results from negligence, breach of contract or wilful default by Love Cabins Pty Ltd, Berambing Sustainable Development Pty Ltd or Wollemi Ridge Retreats, their employees or agents.
