Our Facilties
Why We Use Compostable Toilets
At Wollemi Ridge Retreats, we use waterless compostable toilets to support sustainable, off-grid living. Traditional toilets use up to 12 litres of clean water per flush, compostable toilets use none—helping us conserve water and protect the environment. Our facilities are fitted with a quiet exhaust fan to keep them completely odourless and fresh. Simple to use and eco-friendly, they’re just one way we tread lightly on the land.
Gravity-Fed Showers
Our shower is gravity-fed, offering a beautifully simple solution for off-grid living. Without the need for pumps or mains power, water flows naturally from a tank positioned above the bathroom, creating a lovely pressure that guests often rave about. It’s a gentle reminder that comfort and sustainability can go hand in hand—even in the heart of nature.
Off-Grid Power
Our retreats are powered by a combination of solar energy and gas, allowing us to stay completely off-grid while still providing modern comforts. Solar panels harness the sun’s energy for lighting and basic power needs, while gas is used for cooking and hot water—offering a reliable, eco-friendly setup that keeps your stay both comfortable and sustainable.
